All Done - Just Starting

OK quick and brief - Champions league final. Not going to pretend im not gutted and no-one will convince me that Utd couldn't beat barca but their is no denying they were the better team on the night....again.

On more important note (and easier to talk about because we got beat) the great Paul Scholes has hung up his boots.  I am 22 now and so cant remember a time before Scholes. Because he is so quite, I feel he is sometimes under appreciated. Perhaps this wouldnt be the case if he didn't come through in the same era as Giggsy, surely the only player who outshines Scholes in terms of his loyalty, appearences and presence at Man Utd in modern day football.

In a career spaning 676 games, Scholes has scored 150 goals from center midfield. A lot of them trademark strikes from outside the box. In the past few years, he has sat deeper becoming more of a creator, his range of passing is surpassed by none with even Zindane once claiming Scholes is the best player he has played againsts.

He has won almost everything in the game with the following roll of honour:

Manchester United
Premier League:1996, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2007, 2008,2009
UEFA Champions League: 1999, 2008
Intercontinental Cup: 1999
FA Cup:1996, 1999, 2004
League Cup: 2006, 2010
FIFA Club World Cup: 2009
Paul Scholes Personal Honours
FA Premier League Player of the Month: Jan 2003, Dec 2003, Oct 2006
PFA Team of the Year: 2003, 2007

A pretty impressive list of  titles, proves the only thing Paul Scholes didn't achomplish in his career was how to tackel properly.....though secretly I think it was more something he chose not to learn, as one rough tackle can just as effective as 15 more throughout the match as the player in possession will be being very catious the next time they are on the ball.

Although I agree with his decision that now is the right time to hang up the boots. I am still very sad to see him go, he is a true legend and I am very glad that he will be staying on as a coach! Hopefully influencing future generations to come.

Champions

Man Utd are champions for the 19th time. Unreal feeling watching them lift the trophy, even though it was wrapped up last week!! Praying that I get this feeling again after the champions league final on Saturday! As I mentioned in my first post....two more tests to complete before then!

It's interesting watching the different reactions of each player as they lifted the trophy aloft to the crowd. Giggs and Scholes making very little fuss as they raised it above their heads, maybe understandable on their 12th and 10th time (respectively) of receiving the honour!

Smalling and Gibson also quite modest in their celebrations, almost embarrassed not knowing how to act with it being their first time, hopefully they will get a bit more practice over the years! Two of the happiest men lifting the trophy for different reasons were Michael Owen and Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez, both showing similar elation. Chich for winning his first, Owen showing relief at finally receiving a league honour, as he says to complete the set. To quote the man himself "If you can't beat them. Join them!"

To end on a more depressing note, I now have to hit the library for the rest of the week. Won't be posting again till next weekend so hopefully be even more ecstatic then!!

Exam Time

So I have the first of my final 3 university exams in two days time. Well now its technically 8mins into the new day so its only 1 full day away...FUCK!! I have spent the past few days trying to revise for my final exam in 10 days as I have no fucking idea what its about. All I know is I don't now or will never need econometrics. So why the fuck im being examed on it is beyond me. Anyway my apologies for this boring ass paragraph, but the point im trying to make is I am very unprepared for my exams, and they are basically what will decide my future.

I like to think it will only have a major effect on my more immediate future. I don't know what I want or will do for the rest of my life. I'd like to think I will find something that I enjoy to do, and that may not necessarily be the job I enter now following uni. I hope I wise up over the next week or so and get the work done though! Mainly so I can try earn as much money as possible and in turn be free to do something in later life that I love.

Anyway this is a very boring and uninteresting first post. Im going to continue to use this blog to chronical my life aswell as my opinions on any other events which capture my imagination enough to write about. This has been a further effort in procastination....hopefully it will become more productive later in its life!!
